APPENDIX A: SUMMARY OF POSITIONINGS AND EFFECTS

LEFT POSITION
To determine the left position of any element on a document form, you need to have an Image Editor, like Photoshop. It is measured from the left most corner of the form up to the edge of the element to be positioned. An element may be in the form of a text or graphical image. The measurement unit is Points (1/72 of an inch). Refer to image below.

TOP POSITION
The top position is measured from the top edge of the document form down to the top of the element to be positioned. Measurement unit is Points (1/72 of an inch). Refer to image below.

WIDTH MEASUREMENT
The width is the measurement of the entire element width. The measurement unit is in Points (1/72 of an inch). Width of the text will be ignored once the alignment is to the left and the height is equal to the line-height. But a value is still required for the width measurement. Refer to image below.

HEIGHT MEASUREMENT
The height is the measurement of the entire element height. The measurement unit is in Points (1/72 of an inch). Refer to image below.

LINE HEIGHT MEASUREMENT
The line-height measurement is the height of line element. Usually it is equal to the size of the font used. The measurement unit is in Points (1/72 of an inch). Refer to image below.
